The idea for a publication on the multifaceted work of Winshluss arose from three exhibitions: “Nature Sucks”, a retrospective presented in 2012 at the Centre Culturel François Mitterrand in Périgueux; “Les Gentils, c’est nous!” following his residency in Monflanquin; and “Winshluss, a Wonderful World”, a major exhibition held from April 17 to September 15, 2013, at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris. This book will not only feature emblematic works from his career but also more recent projects, thus revealing Winshluss’s multifaceted career. Two texts written by art professionals will provide two critical perspectives: one by Camille de Singly, professor of Art History at the Fine Arts School of Bordeaux and coordinator of Documents d’artistes in Aquitaine, and another by Sébastien Gokalp, heritage curator at the Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris and curator, among other things, of the exhibitions “Crumb” and “Larry Clark” in 2012.
